St. Andrews University comtinued on their current success with a 3rd place in the British University Korfball Championships
St. Andrews korfball is coming on in leaps and bounds. The team has held the Scottish Champions Title for the past two years and has recently built on that success with a third place at the 2010 BUSA Championships, their highest finish in recent memory. St Andrews stormed through the first day, winning all their matches, leading to a semi-final against recent champions Sheffield Hallam. Despite Hallam fielding current GB senior squad member Charlie Vogwill, St Andrews pushed them all the way to a draw at the final whistle, leading to a golden goal situation. Hallam scored in the first attack, leaving St Andrews in the 3rd/ 4th play off against Cambridge. St Andrews regrouped and came out fighting, defeating Cambridge and coming away with a BUSC Bronze medal. |
