Want to join the National sqaud?  Trials will be held on Sept 27th

Following our very successful trip to South Africa, the Scottish Korfball Association (SKA) are now pleased to announce trials for this year's Scottish National Korfball Squad. All players eligible by the official IKF rules are invited to attend these trials, i.e.:
  • All players who are resident in Scotland since December 2006;
  • All players who were born in Scotland; and
  • All players who have a parent or grandparent born in Scotland.
From these trials the strongest squad of 16 players will be chosen to represent Scotland in a range of international tournaments. The main tournaments this year will be the international Stadskanaal ’74 Tournament in November in The Netherlands, the IKF Europa Bowl in April/May and the Home Nations tournament in June/July, although the squad will also compete in other tournaments and ‘friendlies’.The trials will be held on Saturday the 27th of September 2008, from 11am until 2pm, at Westwoods Health Club (off Crewe Road South, opposite the Western General Hospital, EH4 1RA, map).  The trials will be run by the Scotland national coach, Beth Bennett, who will also be responsible for selecting the final squad.  Cost to attend the trials will be £10 which is to be paid on the day. Overnight accommodation can be provided if required.Training sessions following the trials will be held over a Saturday and Sunday, minimizing the need for travel. Training dates will be announced soon after the squad has been selected.To attend the trials, please notify your interest by the 14th of September 2008 to Beth or myself by email on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .If you are unable to attend the trials but would still like to be considered, please let either of us know as well.Regards,Arnold Bijlsma
